Texas faces an impending power crunch that could force us to struggle through rolling blackouts and continuous power shortages as early as the summer of 2007. This would cost the Texas economy millions of dollars in lost revenue, and could keep new businesses from locating in our state.
The solution is a balanced plan that provides reliable power at affordable prices and promotes a cleaner environment for the future.
Power Across Texas was created to be a single source of information concerning:
- Costs and benefits of various clean fuel sources;
- Assessments of the role of alternative fuels versus clean hydrocarbons;
- Impacts of legislation on power production, transmission, distribution, consumption and pricing;
- Information on industry and State initiatives promoting and enhancing cleaner and more diverse fuel supply;
- The growth of the energy sector in Texas;
- And more!
New Study from the University of Texas on Biofuels
Michael Webber of the University of Texas has co-authored a recent study into one factor in evaluating new sources of transportation energy - water intensity.
This study evaluates the water intensity of various fuel sources to demonstrate that there are more than just carbon tradeoffs involved when we talk about future fuels.
